Darren’s career started at an experimental animation school in Montreal in 1999, steeped in the traditions of the National Film Board of Canada, immersed in a cultural movement of digital-bedroom-animators making high-end music videos and personal short films from the intimacy of their homes. This origin moment led to directing animated documentaries and fantastic/surreal comedic narratives. He currently resides in Portland, Oregon and runs the boutique production company The Sweet Dood. Along with directing animation sequences for Rebel Hearts, a recent artistic highlight was animating and co-directing the short animation Ok Google, which was awarded a Webby and was staff-picked by Vimeo.
