ANIMATION
Una is an Icelandic director who for the past 10 years has mostly animated for and directed documentaries of all shapes and sizes. The most recent documentaries are “Yarn” 2016 and “Svona Fólk” 2017. “Yarn”, a film about selected international crochet artists, was well received at SXSW and won audience award at Nordisk Panorama, Sweden. “Svona Fólk”, a 5 docu-series about history of gay rights in Iceland, won best picture at Skjaldborg filmfestival in Iceland. Other work includes visuals for Daniel Bjarnasons Bow to String series which premiered with live performance at Unsound music festival in Poland. Her own films “TallTales” 2017, was made for an art exhibit at Hafnarborg museum in Iceland and “In the Crack of the Land” 2009 was screened at New Museum, NYC as part of a traveling art show called “Nordic Outbreak”. Her newest short film “Chasing Birds” is currently in production at Unite Centrale, in Montreal, Canada, where Una currently lives. Una received an MFA in experimental animation at California Institute of the Arts in 2009.
